Privacy Policy Regenradar

Protecting your data matters to us. Regenradar is built to process as little data as possible. This policy describes which data is processed when you use the app (Wear OS) and why.

Location data (stays on your device)

Regenradar needs your location to show precipitation around your position. Two permissions are used:

• Calculating and displaying precipitation data based on your current position (required).
• Syncing precipitation data in the background and displaying it as a tile or complication (optional).

Retrieving radar data from our server

To display the weather situation, the app loads radar images from our server. The radar data itself is based on the openly available data of the German Weather Service (DWD). With each request, technically necessary information is transmitted (including IP address, timestamp, app version) along with a randomly generated, anonymous installation identifier.

Anonymous installation identifier

This identifier is a random string generated at installation. It allows no conclusions about your identity, your name or your specific device. We use it solely to

• enable free use (a limited number of daily updates), and
• evaluate app usage statistically (e.g. number of active installations).

This data is automatically deleted after 90 days at the latest. It is not shared with third parties.

Purchase status (Premium subscription)

If you use the Premium subscription, a purchase token provided by Google Play is transmitted to enable activation. Payment data (e.g. credit card number) is not transmitted to us – payment is handled exclusively by Google Play.

Legal basis

Processing is carried out to provide the app’s functions and to fulfil the usage relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in our legitimate interest in a functional, secure and statistically measurable app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For access or deletion requests, please contact info@miwiapps.de. As the data is only linked via the anonymous installation identifier, we need that identifier to process your request.

The German version of this privacy policy is legally binding.
