How do I copy an event?

There are two ways:

In the event editor, choose “Copy event” from the menu; you can then insert this event on any day (even multiple times): first leave edit mode. Then, e.g. in month view, select a day with a single tap and choose “Insert event” from the menu button. The copied event is inserted on that day; you can then pick another day and repeat. This makes irregularly recurring events quick to create.

Alternatively, you can modify an event opened in edit mode and copy it via “Save as new event”.

How do I create a template?

You can use any existing event as a template, modify it and then save it as a new event via “Save as new event” (in the event editor).

Another option is categories: in the event editor, select the “Category” field and create a category with a name and colour via “New category”. Under “Category settings” in the settings menu you can define defaults for subject, times and icon. When an event is assigned to such a category, these defaults are applied on request.

How do I import events?

Events can be imported as an .ics file. Personal Calendar follows the iCalendar format (RFC 2445). Import is done via any file manager on your device by tapping the corresponding file.

How do I import public holidays?

The website www.feiertage.net offers a download of German state-specific public holidays as a CSV file. This file can be imported into Personal Calendar via the settings menu using “Import CSV file” under “Import events”.

“Licence check failed” after installation – what to do?

Both the free and the paid version use the licence check provided by the Google Play Store. In rare cases this message may appear; its cause does not lie in the app itself. It usually resolves by itself after a few hours; alternatively:

  1. Check that you have an unrestricted internet connection and that the time and date are set correctly.
  2. Clear the Google Play Store data: Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → “Clear data”. Then restart the device. (No settings or licences are lost in the process.)
  3. If that does not help, uninstall Personal Calendar, clear the Play Store data as in step 2, and then reinstall the app.
  4. If a problem persists, please wait 24 hours – after that Google performs a new licence check.
